@vamsee Of course we need a solid public transport network to back things up. But then it can get only as good as people demand it to get.

I am willing to donate to an NGO that stations people outside car showrooms and persuades potential buyers to change their mind.

@RideShareus I get your point. But instead of saying mediocrity trumps perfection, I’d rather say liberal trumps rigid. @TimesofBullshit

World, @TimesofBullshit was dormant on twitter for a while, but off late he has been dropping wonderful insights on languages.

@RideShareus So I guess a language wins if it can connect people cutting across cultures, geographies, etc. @TimesofBullshit

TimesofBullshit Have had similar experiences in Delhi. Of course in Delhi even dahine/bayein have died out, so kaanTaa is relatively not a big deal

TimesofBullshit Asked pantry guy to hand me a ‘कांटा’ for scrambled eggs breakfast. Blank stare. Repeat request with ‘fork’. Success!

TimesofBullshit The word ‘kaanTaa’ has almost completely died out in urban Hindi-Urdu. Replaced by loan word ‘fork’.
