@jimanish Which means, to make a cop cough out money, a ticket checker has to complain to a cop. :p

@jimanish Funny thing is that if a ticketless traveller doesn’t pay the fine, ticket checker has to seek police intervention.

via Tweetbot for Mac in reply to jimanish from Mahavir Enclave, New Delhi

@jimanish Yup yup. Delhi Police cops blatantly abuse the rules and don’t buy ticket. Even ticket checker don’t question them.

@jimanish can afford to increase prices, which is not to say that current pricing is unsustainable. Wonder if this has been researched.

via Tweetbot for Mac in reply to jimanish from Mahavir Enclave, New Delhi

@jimanish The Govt. argument is that should change it’s processes to curb ticketless travel. Shiela refused to increase fare.

via Tweetbot for Mac in reply to jimanish from Mahavir Enclave, New Delhi

@jimanish I think we need both. is a mass transport service, and the city needs that.

via Tweetbot for Mac in reply to jimanish from Mahavir Enclave, New Delhi

@jimanish Nah, disagree. I see no reason for them to take off longer routes. pricing makes it more accessible.

via Tweetbot for Mac in reply to jimanish from Mahavir Enclave, New Delhi

@jimanish Also, advertising space is under-utilised which is what helps Metro make a lot of money.

via Tweetbot for Mac in reply to jimanish from Mahavir Enclave, New Delhi

@jimanish Agree. But also, huge number of ticketless travellers.

Service quality is so poor that no one would be happy paying more.

So the piles up losses in spite of carrying more people around Delhi than the metro.

Shame. :/

TIL average metro ridership is 23 lakhs and average ridership is 40 lakhs.
